Thank you very much to Huw Jenkins and Chris Richardson:
Huw Jenkins <h.t.jenk...@me.com>
Chris Richardson <chris.richard...@icr.ac.uk>

All my OpenGL apps work properly running on XQuartz to my Mac:

coot, PyMol, Chimera, and Phenix

Here is the combination of directions from Huw and Chris,

>From the Mac terminal or iTerm2 Mac login run:

defaults write org.macosforge.xquartz.X11 enable_iglx -bool true

The website supplied by Chris (Re-enabling INdirect GLX on your X server):

https://www.visitusers.org/index.php?title=Re-enabling_INdirect_glx_on_your_X_server

Force quit XQuartz and reconnect.

This allows apps like Chimera, PyMol, coot, and OpenGL apps to display
properly.

Best regards,

-Darin
