Greetings - I am lost getting coot to run (see below the signature for fine
details). I have started `apt install` in piecemeal fashion and am getting
nowhere (also see below for details), e.g. installing libguile-3.0 but it
is already installed. This is usually a sign of user error, and having
looked around the usual places, now I must try asking a question before
causing more trouble :

Are there specific environment variables coot needs to know about or have
set upon startup?

Thanks,

-Bryan
