The replicas that reported in this jira had the same generation stamp. No
matter a block gets truncated or appended, a new generation number will be
generated for the block. This is for sure. However, for replicas of the same
generation number, if we do not handle inconsistent block length well, we might
get into the problem of data loss as reported in HADOOP-4810 as well as the
problem reported in this jira.
By the way, should this be a blocker to 0.18.3?
