It's been removed from 1.7 AFAIK. You should now be using the javax.imageio API introduced in 1.4. The com.sun API was never officially supported and means code won't run on other non-Sun JDKs (e.g. GNU Classpath, Apache Harmony). -- Andrew :-) Support Free Java!
