Yes - I'm planning to restart the discussion soon. It is very important
to get the conclusion and any change done for JDK 8 by the API interface
freeze (i.e. 10/10) [1]. I'll spend some of my time next few weeks on
this work.
And I have a patch that I will be proposing over the weekend.
