There's a wide-stereo effect on Macbook speakers. I searched online and couldn't find a way to turn it off. It sounds like they are adding out of phase signals from the opposite sides. It's an old technique, but to a recording engineer it's a painful phasey sound.
Is there any way to turn this off?
