## Announcements & Events
* OSFC 2025
Dates: October 7–10, 2025
## Late GMT coreboot Leadership Meeting Minutes
## Attendees
Mina Asante, Martin Roth, Jay Talbott, Julius Werner, Werner Zeh, Matt
DeVillier, Maximilian Brune, Jon Murphy, Andy Ebrahiem, Karthik R.
## Minutes
### No issues on the early GMT meeting agenda.
### [Martin] 25.09 coreboot release tagged on 2025_09_25.
* (Well, actually the 26th, but the tag was done on a commit from the 25th,
so it’s roughly the same.)
* Final release notes: (https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/8938)
* Will do the announcement tomorrow
### [Martin] AMD Phoenix openSIL Proof of concept was released yesterday.
* (https://www.phoronix.com/news/AMD-openSIL-Phoenix)
* I’ve created a repo at coreboot to act as a submodule and will be adding
the new submodule shortly.
### [Martin] We’d like to figure out how to set up a testing infrastructure and
pay someone to do it.
* [Matt] Need to revamp the board info to go along with the test.
* [Werner] Siemens has a setup with 2 boards currently. This could be
extended by a couple of boards. Builds flashes, boots, collects coreboot logs.
* Add siemens bot as a reviewer.
* Could be extended to test toolchain builds.
* [Max] For testing there typically aren’t maintenance contracts which makes
it less useful.
* Get bids.
* Start a funding campaign.
* Buy boards.
* Start testing.
* At least one board per SOC.
* Martin is working on the framework 13 laptop using the phoenix SOC and
would (depending on cost) pay for this board to be tested.
* Look at testing legacy boards on older branches (like 4.11)
* [Jay] Syspro could possibly contribute boards. OCP boards and others.
* [Martin] I also have AMD boards
* [Julius] ATF has a setup like this - $5000/board/year (estimate) - The
hardware isn’t typically the limit, it’s more the funding
* [Jonmurphy] Google could probably contribute as well.
* Need to understand what testing needs to be done. If this is rate
limited, google might be able to help.
* There’s currently a daily check on various chromebooks [support lifecycle
- non eol]
* Build, boot, functional tests
* Need to figure out what’s being tested from main.
* Martin to work with Jon on scoping what needs to be tested.
### We’re looking at updating the toolchain to GCC 15
* [Matt] there are issues building it on the host.
* Felix updated the builders, but there were some issues
### Elias is working to update code to C23
* [Max] Can we hold off on forcing the standard update for at least a year
* [Martin] Let’s update code to support the standard and test with it, but
not force the change. Maybe make the standard a Kconfig option.
### Information
* The upcoming coreboot coverity review session scheduled for October 8, has
been canceled.
## Early GMT coreboot Leadership Meeting Canceled.
* No issues on the agenda.
# Next Leadership Meetings Date

* [coreboot Calendar](https://coreboot.org/calendar.html).
# Notice
Decisions shown here are not necessarily final and are based
on the current information available. If there are questions or comments
about decisions made, or additional information to present, please put
it on the leadership meeting agenda and show up if possible to discuss
it.
Of course items may also be discussed on the mailing list, but as it's
difficult to interpret tone over email, controversial topics frequently
do not have good progress in those discussions. For particularly
difficult issues, it may be best to try to schedule another meeting.
We now host two leadership meetings, one in early GMT and one in late GMT, to
better accommodate
participants from the Asian time zones.
Kindly note that both sessions use the same meeting notes and Google Meet link.
