Very well, if changing the flag itself is out of the question and it seems i cant convince you, then i would like to suggest the following change to the --help output $ rm -rf / rm: it is dangerous to operate recursively on '/' rm: this will delete all your files and data on the system, leaving nothing recoverable rm: if you still wish to proceed then use --no-preserve-root to override this failsafe I sincerely hope that you will see this as a valid proposal Regards, Nahyan
