The independent research group Trustworthy Human Language Technologies 
(TrustHLT) at the Department of Computer Science of the Technical University of 
Darmstadt, Germany has a job opening for a

PhD student (m/f/d)

as part of our collaboration with the German Federal Bank (Deutsche Bundesbank) 
within the Innovation Lab “XChange Kooperation Bundesbank - Data Science @ TU 
Darmstadt”.

This position will focus on a broad range of research questions related to 
multimodal fact checking, including novel problems and task definitions. A 
solid background in machine learning for natural language processing and 
dataset construction is essential. The candidate will be part of an 
interdisciplinary team at the Department of Computer Science at TU Darmstadt 
and will cooperate with the German Federal Bank. Wages and salaries are based 
on the collective agreement applicable to the TU Darmstadt (TV-TU Darmstadt).

-- Requirements --

An ideal candidate has a master in computer science or a related discipline, a 
strong interest in multimodal natural language processing, excellent analytical 
and programming skills, is a team player, and is fluent in English. Fluency in 
German is a plus but not required.
