Crystal Reports and the Business Objects Enterprise suite is the business intelligence and report writing tool used by these applications. The project will build a series of robust management reports and a subsequent environment for ad-hoc reporting. The consultant selected will be responsible for designing Business Objects Universes and writing Crystal Reports that can be run in batch from Java Web Applications. Skills, education, certifications, experience · Have hands-on, in-depth experience and expertise with the Business Objects XI suite of products. The consultant will have the knowledge and understanding of how to structure and design data to optimize the use of these products. · Have experience deploying Business Intelligence (BI) solutions against existing dimensional and relational schemas. Have a minimum of three (3) years experience in each of the following: · Business Objects/Crystal Reports development; · Business Objects XI R2 Designer; · Business Objects Web Intelligence Xi R2: Report Design; · Java; · HTML / JavaScript / XML experience; and · UDB Version 8 or higher. · Have a minimum of five (5) years experience using SQL and relational database management systems concepts and structures. General SQL coding (not database specific). · Have good verbal and written skills. · Possess knowledge of version control and code promotion process. · Possess practical understanding of Web Services / Service Oriented Architecture. · Have strong analytical, technical and communications skills. Responsibilities SCOPE OF WORK · Under the direction of Management team, the consultant will be responsible for the following. Consultant must perform all activities to the agreed upon project plan/schedule. · Under guidance of technical staff, develop System Design Documents (SDD) from the System Requirements Documents (SRD) supplied by the Requirements, Testing and Training Group. · Using the SDD and SRD, create business Objects Universes and write Crystal Reports using the software specified in Section 9, Technical Skills Required. · Test reports and the Business Objects Universes in the Development Environment. · Once the reports have been deployed to the Testing Environment, modify the reports and Business Objects Universes if testers in the Requirements, Testing and Training Group encounter defects. · Training and mentoring DWSS IS technical staff on building Business Intelligence solutions.
