* *VMware engineer vc* *Position*: * VMware ThinApp Engineer * *Location*: NYC, NY *Length*: 6 months w/option for additional time *Start Date*: ASAP *Rate: * $50 C2C The consultant will perform a variety of engineering activities related to implementing & managing enterprise wide VMware ThinApp deployments. *Resources will be responsible for the creation of unattended application installations in both MSI and ThinApp format.* Additional responsibilities include creating and implementing best practices for enterprise wide server monitoring, capacity planning, and high availability. * * *Requirements*: 1. Must have 2 plus installations utilizing VMware ThinApp and MSI experience 2. VMware ThinApp Engineer responsibilities will include: a. Supplement current Client’s resources in an effort to automate installations for the Windows 7 rollout project. b. Take direction from Client management on the prioritization of packaging efforts with a best effort on the number of automations completed. This will include standard, medium and difficult complexity ratings for the duration of the engagement. c. Test each automated installation on a generic Windows 7 operating system to perform a silent install, silent uninstall, and primary program execution only. As the packaging resources are not familiar with the full functionality of each request, Client will be responsible for final sign-off and testing for each request. d. Document the application automations using the current “Risk Assessment and Architecture.doc”. 3. Aid in the awareness of standards and best practices, as well as enforcing these standards. 4. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. 5. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong and effective communicator 6.
