He/she should have at least 4 years of industry experience. Should have
completed at least 2 EAI projects using TIBCO suite of middleware products
such as TIBCO Business Works, TIBCO Integration Manager, TIBCO Rendezvous,
TIBCO adapters, TIBCO InConcert; minimum of 6 months duration each. Design /
Tech Lead experience will be desirable; telecom domain knowledge will be a
plus point.

Title: Middle Level Software Developer
Location: Topeka
Duration:12 months

At an intermediate level of proficiency, work independently and/or closely
with development staff to develop, maintain, and support the company's
software application systems and related tools; provide guidance,
instructions, and support to all levels of company staff. The position will
assist in identification of process improvements and recommendations and
will assist in the training of junior level developers.
*Major Duties and Responsibilities:*
Play a primary role in the analysis, design, development, documentation,
implementation and support of
applications for all areas of the company through the project life-cycle and
across single or multiple systems.
Investigates program errors, defines problems, debugs programs, tests
results, and implements changes.
Provides maintenance support for existing Bank applications and related
package products as directed.
Actively participate in process improvement
initiatives.
Assists users in solving system problems and trains users in system
operations.
Maintains and modifies purchased program packages as
directed.
*Expectations:*
1. Independently or with some supervision, works closely with
clients to resolve complex production problems on assigned company
applications across multiple hardware platforms, software packages, and
programming languages.
2. Provides production support and troubleshooting on a broad
number of systems.
3. Participates with project team in implementation and
post-production support of applications.
4. Demonstrates awareness of the need for constant process
improvement and is willing to identify, offer suggestions for improvement
and actively participate in their implementation.
5. Work to understand various client departments' duties and
computerized information systems and underlying data, and successfully
design and develop procedures, reports and extracts for them as needed.
6. Continuously expand skill set by learning new languages and
techniques. Share knowledge and experience with other members of the
business and quality assurance team.
7. Willingness to adapt to changing business and technical
environments.
8. Reports task progress to Project Manager and project lead on
a weekly basis in a format determined by the Project Manager.
9. Balance multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.
10. Provide system support services on-site and via telephone
during working hours and on-call after normal working hours.
*Knowledge and Skills:*
Experience: Fully competent
professional with three to five years of similar or related professional
experience.
Education: Equivalent to a
college degree.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and
diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much
personal contact with others inside and/or outside the
organization, generally regarding routine matters
for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some
discussion.
Other Skills:
1. 3 to 4 years of broad financial and/or banking industry
experience comprising a combination of education and hands-on experience is
preferred. (Experience may be in operational or information technology
aspects of the financial sector).
2. Combination of 4 to 7 years of hands-on development experience in a full
life-cycle software development organization.
3. Familiarity with Microsoft technologies is a plus.
4. Experience with Agile development methods is a plus.
5. Intermediate understanding of some combination of database design,
programming concepts, and web development is required.
6. Ability to think orderly, logically and analytically and strong problem
solving skills.
7. Resourcefulness and creativity when researching new products and
techniques.
8. Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office
equipment.
9. Must be goal-oriented and have a strong sense of team solidarity.
