Please send matching resume to ha...@tgclonline.com Location: Sunnyvale,CA Duration: 3-6 Months * As a Systems/Domain Architect you will work as part of a highly technical team of professionals who are responsible for all architectural design, development and deployment of cost effective and sustainable technical and application solutions to meet business requirements. Strong organizational skills, technical expertise and attention to detail are key in this customer-focused role. Essential Functions: As the Systems/Domain Architect you have high-level responsibility for the design, development and deployment of systems solutions to functional customers to address their business needs. You will provide a leadership role on technical project teams and handle technical project issues and challenges. You will also communicate with management and cross-functional peers on projects requiring technical solutions. The areas of focus for the Systems/Domain Architect are: - Translate business requirements using NetApp IT standards to determine appropriate system solutions. - Work within a cross-functional team to provide technical expertise in the design and planning of system solutions. - Drive delivery of solutions to meet the business requirement timeframe while still adhering to a high quality standard. - Create solutions to maximize the performance, uptime, and supportability, of NetApp’s technology platforms. - Implement technology migration strategies (P2V, V2V, P2P, etc.) for applications or architectures. - Have strong skills in the following areas: UNIX system administration, networking, database management (Oracle 9i/10g, Microsoft SQL 2003/2007) and server virtualization technologies like VMware, Solaris global zones/containers, AIX VIO/LPAR/WPAR, etc. - Provide mentorship and training of other Systems/Domain Architects at the same level or below on technologies, processes and tools; and to handle more complex issues/requests. - Create and maintain project documentation with familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite - Create design documents using Visio as the documentation tool - Exposure to data center migration strategies and methodologies Requirements: - Demonstrated strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues as well as the ability to lead a complex, cross functional troubleshooting session (i.e war room) - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Demonstrated strong knowledge of the following OS/technologies: Solaris 8/9/10, RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.x, AIX 5.x/6, VMware ESX/ESXi, Windows 2003/2008, NAS/SAN (Fibre channel/IP/iSCSI), Load balancer concepts - Demonstrated strong knowledge of NetApp products and services such as: FAS3000/6000 - Ability where appropriate to work collaboratively and lead a team of other Systems/Domain Architects to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well. - Strong ability to articulate complex technical solutions to non technical peers and management via multiple mediums of communication - written, diagrammatic and oral - Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines. Responsibility and Interaction: - Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible for are often unstructured, have wide implications and there are multiple outcomes. - This individual will apply broad expertise or unique technical/industry knowledge in solving problems that are unique and extremely complex given time, budget and resource constraints. - Interaction: - Limited supervision is provided, as this individual can operate, drive results, and set priorities independently. - The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor - This individual must demonstrate favorable results through leadership and influencing multiple individuals and groups.
