The following application tasks are expected to be executed by the Data
Warehouse systems/application analyst ETL specialist. All tasks will involve
some degree of up front analysis prior to development or execution, as well
as several phases of system and user acceptance testing.
These tasks/skills do not include database administration support or
technical infrastructure support tasks, as these responsibilities fall under
a different support area within the organization.
- Preparing and loading of data from the past three extract years of the
IRS Business Master File (BMF) and Business Returns Transaction File (BRTF)
into the Data Warehouse using the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools.
- Setting up and running offline process for data cleansing and matching
of these files. This includes configuring the A&G match keys with
consultation from the business users and Data Warehouse team.
- Working to resolve BMF/BRTF records that result in Research queue items
that cannot be loaded into the Data Warehouse.
- Creating and executing “views” to be utilized by the DiscoverTax audit
selection process.
- Performing database utility functions, such as SQL Server Analytical
Services for OLAP , development of stored procedure, DTS, SSIS, etc. as
needed for loading and analysis of data.
