Duration : 6 months  with 2 possible 1 year extensions

Location: Olympia,WA

Responsibilities:

         Upgrade standard developer tools (Visual Studio, TFS, etc)

·         Migrate web applications to current standards (Visual Studio, TFS,
Asp.Net 2.0, etc)

·         Implement new processes that reflect current industry best
practices

·         Documentation and training for development staff on new
technologies and techniques

·         Upgrade or containment of third-party software currently in use.

Required Skills:

 Experience in converting source code from older version to at least .Net
2.0 and from VSS2005 to TFS.

 *Detail required skills:***

Participate in software development & re-hosting efforts including but not
limited to coding, and thorough unit testing using agency system and
programming standards.

will be developed using ASP.NET, VB.NET, XML, HTML, Java Script, or SQL
databases; accessed via a web browser that interfaces with IBM MQ Series

Experience in converting source code from older version to at least .Net 2.0
and from VSS2005 to TFS.

Mentor other software developers to facilitate knowledge transfer, conduct
peer reviews and coach others in best practices to ensure quality product
produced.

Follow Agency process for managing issues and design changes throughout each
entire initiative, including use of the Department’s development and test
environments.

Adept and experienced at using TFS for version control and branching/merging
in an Enterprise environment where multiple projects and maintenance efforts
are impacting the same code base.

Significant experience working in a cross-project or cross-team development
environment

Provide necessary support to Agency staff in identification of system
defects, assist in verification and test conditions.

Assist the client in identification and preparation of test data to support
specific conditions

Modify and retest applications based upon client identification of system
test incident reports.

Develop a detailed implementation technical plan, including a detailed
implementation script, and identification of risks and contingency measures.


Develop and support with contingency measures the incremental promotion of
applications from the development environment through integration and
pre-production into the production environment.

Provide post implementation support, including management of production
system incidents.

Develop system documentation and materials that facilitate knowledge
transfer; turn over all code, test results, and documentation to the Agency
project or maintenance team.
