Experience Required:*
· Well versed in both Windows Server performance metrics and
monitoring and SQL Server 2008 performance metrics and monitoring.
· Common monitoring components will include Windows PerfMon, SQL
Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), SQL Profiler and Excel.
· Solid understanding of paging, multi-core/multi-thread
considerations, memory analysis, data cache metrics, indexing, parallelism,
physical and logical disk I/O metrics, SQL Isolationism and SQL
transactions.
· During the execution of the position, the candidate will have
access to business interfaces and will be expected to be able to map the
business metrics to technical metrics as part of the analysis and
presentation.
· The candidate will be expected to be able to develop, plan and
execute a monitoring plan based on the platform and workload types given.
· The candidate will also be expected to be able to analyze and
present the findings in a meaningful fashion as well as offer specific
changes to improve the overall results.
· The candidate should also be familiar with the standard HP
DL380/580 series servers and the common hardware components they use.
· Any additional knowledge towards the general business metrics used
in supply chain sorting/distribution systems is a bonus.

Skills Required*
· Excellent communication skills and will have hands-on experience
working on component based applications in a distributed environment.
· Strong English communication and client facing skills
· Strong Windows Server 2008 R2 knowledge
· Strong SQL Server 2008 R2 knowledge
· Strong performance metrics knowledge
· Moderate Office (Excel, Outlook, Visio, Word, Project) knowledge
· Moderate HP Server hardware knowledge
· Moderate planning and execution knowledge
· Supply chain sorting/distribution knowledge a plus
