Position: Java Architect with Airlines experience Location: Irving, TX Duration: 12+Months
Rate: $60-$62/hr Start: ASAP *POSITION * The candidate filling this position leads the design and architectural duties for a major feature set (module) developed for passenger airline business systems. Candidate works with other module architects to define inter-module interaction mechanisms, interfaces and common design patterns used throughout the airline passenger service system (PSS). Role oversees module compliance with the architectural standards and reviews architecturally significant designs on a periodic and as needed basis. The architect stays engaged with all other system architects for overall technical direction and researches, implements, and tests framework level abstractions of the overall system. *EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION (PRIORITIZED) * Essential Experience and Capability -- This position requires: Technical Skills 4+ years of Agile, SCRUM, and XP technique development methodology experience Proficient in Unit, Functional, Integration, Regression, and Antagonistic test strategies and how to design test fixtures for a large scale development effort. Experience in J2SE / J2EE development skills 5+ years performing development in a company and/or projects that have developed in JAVA with JBoss and/or WebLogic applications in an Agile/SCRUM process lifecycle Experience in developing Java based solutions in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based environment Applied use of design concepts from Enterprise Integration Patterns (eip), SOA Design Patterns, and/or Design Patterns (Gang of Four) books into software design. A Bachelors degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science Business Skills Ability to analyze complex applications Detail oriented deliverable focused Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work across multiple organizations Experience at writing software defect reports The ability to communicate on a technical as well as a non-technical level The ability to understand applications from a technical and business perspective The candidate must be a proven team player with strong interpersonal skills possessing a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with varying priorities Ability to make sound decisions based on business, technology, and architecture guidelines Preferred Experience and Capability V The preferred candidate will have one or all of the following in addition to all the minimum experience and capability listed above: Technical Skills Recent experience with Tools at the UI and UX application layer in a JAVA environment Experience in developing Java based Solutions in a SOA based environment Previous experience in using Rallys Agile Management tool (Rally Dev) Experienced with iTKO LISA or any other open source or commercial tools and libraries to build automated integration tests and regression frameworks without a UI or GUI front end. User Interface testing (JMETER, Selenium) Java Unit testing (JUnit, NUnit, EasyMock, Mockito) Programming skills with Java, Eclipse, UNIX/Linux scripting, SQL, XML, JBOSS, Weblogic Experience in airline PSS or travel industry Experience with setting-up automation to run on schedules, on certain events, or ad hoc.
