Location: San Jose, CA Duration: Long Term Contract *Job Title Description:* The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for production application suport of high-end service offerings and implementation and automation through scripting. This position is the key contibutor of the current and future data and messaging infrastucture and is expected to create expansive solutions that improve scalability, increase measurability and support increasingly complex product features. This position is looked upon as an expert of the product environment and expected to partner with other senior members to improve the current and future systems design. The capabilities designed and implemented are used to manage and deliver energy and performance information from distributed renewable energy systems for the benefit of the individual and the world. *Requirements:* - Minimum of 5 years experience in system development, with experience spanning the full life cycle of many major software releases - Minimum 2 years direct experience with 24*7 production support - RedHat Linux and Linux shell scripting and Awk programming - Hands on experience writing utilities using Shell Scripts and Java - Experience managing and tuning MySQL and writing SQL scripts - Experience manager server side Java and JMS based systems - Experience with Apache/Tomcat, Load Balancer (Apache) and comfortable in making configuration changes - End to end production management and performance tuning of milti-layers, clustered system architectures which utilize server technologies: JEE, SOAP Web Services, and client technologies: JSF, JSP, AJAX, JavaScript, and CSS - Experience with source code control systems (SVN preferred) and release automation - Experience with Production monitoring systems such as Nagios, Centreon, Awstats and Cacti. - Problem solver with proven debugging and diagnostic skills - Able to quickly learn and enhance an existing implementation, while building solutions in unchartered areas - Demonstrated ability in reducing risk of Production systems. - Able to introduce large scale infrastructure changes with little or no impact to Production.
