Title: Senior Informatica Upgrade Consultant

Location: Oakbrook Terrace, IL

Duration: 3+ Months



Job Responsibilities

*- Participate in the upgrade and migration of Informatica PowerCenter
v8.6.0 to v9.1.*
* *

*- Participate in the upgrade and migration of Informatica
PowerExchange(CDC) v8.6.1 to v9.1.*

- Provide a complete audit of the current state to determine the full scope
of migration requirement.

- Work with the DI team members to gather requirements on the proposed
architecture/design configuration changes and document the future state.

- Provide recommendations on the best migration approach and new features of
the tools.

- Work with the DI team to discuss and plan out the new environment design.

- Provide technical architecture analysis, design, and development and
enhancements for the new environment.

- Define and document the technical steps for the Migration and develop a
test plan.

- Define and document the prerequisites for customer acceptance and
sign-off.

- Provide technical guidance to the DI team on configuration task such -

       - Security, Administration

       - CDC/Real time (PWX)

       - Web Services

- Participate in installing, migrating and configuring the Dev, Test, UAT,
Production and DR environments.

- Develop a Backup and a restore strategy as well as the detail task for the
disaster recovery.

- Must be able to tune the data integration environment to match the
scalability of business needs and provide expertise in capacity planning

- Work on any other tasks related to the Informatica migration.

- Work with the vendor to resolve the migration issues.

- Provide assistance with production implementation and cutover.

- Provide regular status updates to the project team.

- Knowledge Transfer to DI team members.



Qualifications

- 8-10 years of overall IT experience with over 6+ years in Informatica
platform products.

- A minimum of two years experience with PowerCenter in version 8.x or
greater and over one year with PowerExchange(CDC) for SQL Server.

- Must have performed at least two full-Life cycle implementation of
migrating Informatica software.

- Expertise in Technical Planning and the migration/upgrade efforts of
Informatica software.

- Ability to install, upgrade, configure, and optimize/tune Powercenter and
Power Exchange instances on Windows environment.

- Experience in various Informatica Applications like Designer, Workflow
Manager, Workflow Monitor, Power Exchange/CDC.

- Must have some experience in configuring Power Exchange(CDC) and Web
services.

- Experience with Data Explorer is a plus.

- Expertise in backup and recovery strategies.

- 1-2 yrs. of strong SQL Server 2005/2008 experience desired.

- Ability to learn the environment, design, develop and test the migration.

- Knowledge of Data Marts, Data Warehousing is a plus.

- Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio desired.

- SQL experience strongly desired.

- Good interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism.

- Strong analytical and documentation skills.

- Good time management skills, i.e. the ability to take on and prioritize
several tasks and meet deadlines.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Results-oriented; takes initiative.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Ability to adapt to change.

- Willing to work additional hours, when needed.
