Work hours: This position is for 2nd and or 3rd shift work. Candidates must be open to this schedule. Shift are roughly 3pm - 12am or 11pm - 7am. Days of week will vary, either Sun - Thur. or Tue. - Sat. 1yr contract with possibility of extension ***Manager Feedback** * *he is not looking for someone with 15-20 years of experience, but more "fresh blood" and people who can grow with the team (5-10 years) *he is seeing a lot of resumes with candidates who are focused on operating systems (which they do need to know), but he would like to see candidates who are focused on the application layer, tuning applications- high level Apache tuning, Java tuning and Akamai. *recent experience with VMware, weblogic and websphere *website experience with Apache (administering web applications) *candidates who have done and can speak to their Java tuning/configuration experience (aka JVM) *a solutions focused candidate- not just someone who goes in and fixes the problem, but the person who can understand why the issue is there and how to approach it. *A background with large scale or global presence websites *Original Description:* *Summary: Install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Responsible for monitoring network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. Education/Experience o Associate degree in computer related field required.
