I can be reached via email: [email protected] or phone: 217-321-1964 *338119-- Deployment Consultant—3 Positions* *Trenton, NJ* *4+ Months* *Both Phone and In-Person* *35 Hrs/ week* Provide additional expert staff resources to assist the DEP with its Windows 7 and Viewfinity Deployment Project that has the goal of installing the Windows 7 Enterprise Operating System and Viewfinity Privilege Management software on all DEP computers and workstations. There are approximately ~3000 DEP PC's and laptops in use. To enable the Office of Information Resources Management (OIRM) to maintain support and deployment of existing computing services, along with this large undertaking of migrating ~3000 PC's additional temporary expert resources are necessary. Due to the uniqueness of each program's use of specialized software, (i.e.Fish & Wildlife vs. Radiation) all specialized software must be identified, vetted for security, licensing and proper use. This task in itself requires speaking with each Program Lead and ascertaining software needs, to ensure the software is built into the new PC configuration and minimizes business disruption. The migration consists of using several automated tools to assist with upgrades (exisitng PC's) and installations (new PC's), such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft Users State Migration Tool (UMT), Windows Easy Transfer (WET) utility, and Viewfinity Privilege Manager software. The specific deliverables that will be produced by the resource as a result of this engagement include the following: 1. Assist with the deployment of Windows 7 and Viewfinity on all DEP's 3000+ computers using SCCM and other appropriate installation tools (UMT or WET). 2. Utilize System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to configure and build task sequences for PC deployments and upgrades. 3. Through the use of Viewfinity privilege management software insure that DEP users have rights to access or install, only DEP authorized software. 4. Maintain lists of DEP authorized software by agency or unit. 5. Maintain knowledge of installation process for DEP network printer and other hardware devices used by DEP staff. 6. When deploying or upgrading PCs, insure that users have access to all printers and other devices needed to perform their assigned work. 7. Troubleshoot and resolve deployment, upgrade or installation related problems. PS 3 - Years of Relevant Experience: 3 plus years Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study Role Description: Demonstrate expertise in teaching / conveying technical and / or functional courses / concepts. Develop appropriate work programs / budgets and use to effectively schedule tasks / assignments.
