*Position: SQL Server DBA Lead Consultant*

*Location: Watsonville, CA*

*Duration: 6 months*



*JD*

·         Installation, Administer and develop on SQL Server
2000/2005/2008/2012. Working with various components of MS SQL and
providing solution design as per requested Architecture

·         Design Databases, Upgrade and Migration on MS-SQL Server
2000/2005/2008/2012. Performance Tuning, Query optimization, SQL Query
Execution Plan analysis. Setting up SQL Server Trace for various
performance based requirements. Develop Test Cases and providing test
reports.

·         Good understanding and hands on experience on Database high
availability concepts, like SQL Server Cluster, DB Mirroring, Log shipping
and Replication.

·         Good knowledge on Backup and restore. Creating Maintenance Plans
and SQL Jobs. T-SQL scripting including stored procedures, triggers and
views.

·         Set up database security. User administration, roles & privileges

·         Design, development, and create all database file systems layouts
and Oracle databases;

·         Monitor software notifications and updates; managing distributed
databases and configuring client/server and Web-based environments;

·         Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to
developers; review database design specifications and application coding
routines to ensure adherence to best practice methods for database usage;

·         Ensure database performance is maintained at optimal levels and
is able to support defined business requirements;

·         Create/maintain referential integrity relationships/constraints;

·         Provide problem diagnosis and resolution;

·         Schedule database backups;

·         Diagnose and resolve backup failures;

·         Configure, analyze application SQL to do SQL Tuning for
performance improvement opportunities;



*Responsibilities:*

·         Environment setup ( Installation and configurations )

·         Database Upgrades

·         Database performance tuning

·         Enable PCI audit trial for applications

·         Handling incidents, problems and changes as per the ITIL
Guidelines

·         Leading the effort for Root Cause Analysis of high impact /
priority issues

·         Coordination of with different teams for resolution of any
hardware / product related issues

·         Ability to cross skill on the technologies required for the
project.

·         Ability to work with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate
using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting)

·         Ability to support working outside of normal business hours to
provide after hour or "on-call" support when necessary to solve high
profile issues or complete critical path projects

·         Effectively communicate with both business and technical IT teams
