*Sr Systems Engineer*
*Preferred Skill / Roles & Responsibilities:*
· Experienced Linux systems administrator in architecting,
implementing, and supporting large scale distributed systems.
· Extensive monitoring Windows and Linux systems: collect and
analyze system metrics, paging and swapping, process signals, functions of
devices and file system concepts.
· Troubleshoot system and application services, identify system
tuning and performance issues.
· Utilization of Ansible, Puppet, Git and Rundeck to install and
configure Linux environments with successful production.
· Install and configured managed systems with CM tools such as
Puppet and Chef.
· Experience building of automation scripts within automation
infrastructure.
· Experience with Python, Ruby, and Unix shell scripting.
· Strong knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, basic routing and ACL/FW
principles, etc.
· Strong knowledge of databases, Java, and web application languages.
· Installation and configuration of Apache, Debian, Nginx, Squid,
Varnish, MySQL, and MongoDB.
· Management of packages and create RPM files.
· Experienced in Source Control System knowledge -
Git/Crucible/Jenkins
· Security Operations Support Experience
· Maintained and manage ongoing software installs, upgrades and
maintenance in a production environment.
· SMTP configuration, LDAP administration, SAN Multipath
configuration.
· Troubleshoot of server virtualization products like KVM, VMware,
and Virtual Box.
· Knowledge of cloud computing and DevOps techniques.
· Patch Management, Package Installation/Upgrades and Kernel upgrades
· Installed/Configured Elastic Search Logstash Kibana services.
Managed tuning and performance of high profile applications writing to
Elastic Search stack.
· Configuration and Administration of Load balancers and F5's,
taking servers in/out of rotation.
*Additional Skills:*
· Must have a minimum of 3 - 5 years of system ownership/support
experience in a commercial or military environment, preferably with a
security background.
· Ability to be self driven, take lead on projects, and coach peers.
· Ability to drive solutions that are consistent with scope.
· Ability to effectively facilitate meetings with project team
members, various business groups and senior leadership.
· Ability to present persuasively and effectively to executives.
· Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, and
multi-task across several project assignments.
· Ability to manage, control and report on project budget.
· Ability to interact and communicate professionally with all levels
of staff and management as required to coordinate project deliverables,
deliver status reports, and facilitate meetings.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Exceptional problem solving skills.
· Bachelors degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent
work experience required.
