*Role: Big Data Architect* *Location: Cincinnati, Ohio* *Duration : 6 Months + * *Rate $80/hr. on C2C. * Skills/Experience: Big Data Engineer 3Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Gathers requirements from stakeholders, designs the solution aligned to requirements, platform(s) architecture and infrastructure. 2. Engages with platform(s) owners/operators at early stage to influence its form and features across expected user base. 3. Engages with principal engineers/architects to cross-pollinate and leverage design patterns and practices for big data engineering. 4. *Leads hands-on *development, testing, and enhancement of data stores (tables, views, files) fitting to design and architecture of data solution. 5. *Leads hands-on *development, testing, and enhancement of data mapping, transformation, fusion, aggregation and/or reduction solutions to deliver actionable datasets to stakeholders. 6. Designs data quality checks. *7. **Leads* investigation of performance issues, identification of optimization measures including but not limited to coalescing fragmented data, optimizing resource usage, re-partitioning, indexing, bucketing/distribution. 8. Reviews deliverables from data engineering junior colleagues. 9. Mentors junior colleagues.
