*Position: Sr. Lead Cognos Developer Location: Seattle, WA OR St. Louis, MO
(Travel required from WA to MO when there is a client need – Expenses Paid)
Duration: 6+ months*

As a Lead Cognos BI Developer you will assist with the development of
reports for the IBM OpenPages GRC Platform and GRC Data Warehouse using IBM
Cognos. You will be a member of the GRC Analytics team that designs,
develops and implements reporting solutions on the IBM OpenPages GRC
Platform and GRC Reporting Data Warehouse. You will interact directly with
internal business clients to understand their reporting, analytics & data
needs, design business intelligence solutions, and work with other members
on the team (data modelers, report authors, ETL developers, data analysts,
etc.) on the implementation of such solutions. This includes the
development of detailed list reports, crosstab reports, senior management
dashboards, and integration reports. You will also be responsible for
leading the development of Cognos Framework Manager models and OpenPages
calculated fields, reporting fragments and notifications using Cognos BI 10
and Cognos Analytics.

*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*

To lead the development of detailed list reports, crosstab reports, senior
management dashboards, and integration reports using Cognos 10.2 and Cognos
Analytics (11).
To lead the development of data triggered notifications for the OpenPages
GRC Platform using Cognos Event Studio.
To develop and maintain Cognos Framework Manager models for the GRC
Reporting Data Warehouse.
To assist and provide guidance to ETL & data warehouse developers with
complex ETLs, stored procedures, triggers, MQTs and views on our DB2-based
Data Warehouse necessary for reporting purposes
To provide guidance to other development team members, and validate and
verify deliverables before migration to QA, UAT and Production.
To develop and tune views within our Cisco Virtual Data Platform used for
reporting purposes
To provide assistance and guidance during the QA, UAT, and Production
stages to quickly confirm the validity of potential issues and to determine
the root cause and best resolution of verified issues


*Required skills: *
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information
Technology, or related field required
At least 8+ years of experience as a Cognos BI Developer.
A strong understanding of Cognos v10 and v11 architecture and report
development.
A strong understanding of Cognos v10 and v11 Framework Manager modeling,
including the design of DMR and business user friendly models.
Experience with the performance testing of Cognos reports and the ability
to quickly identify and resolve performance issues.
Strong understanding of advanced data warehouse concepts (Factless Fact
Tables, Temporal \ BI-Temporal models, etc.)
Well versed in writing complex, yet efficient SQL code, especially in a DB2
environment.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Excellent collaboration and team skills.

*Other Desired Skills:*

Experience using the Cognos Java SDK.
Experience with writing JavaScript and using it to extend the functionality
of Cognos Report Studio.
Experience with the Cognos Microsoft Office plug-in.
Domain knowledge of risk, compliance and audit a plus.
Experience with other BI applications like Tableau a plus
Experience with Tibco Virtual Data Platform (previously known as Composite)
a plus
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MarkLogic a plus
Experience with Autosys a plus
Experience with Agile development practices
Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand
business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective
technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured
enterprise environments.
Excellent trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and
document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible
resolutions
