I'm confused that there are two versions of using 'the' in the
textbook of English in Hong Kong on certain Chinese festivals. Lately,
some English teachers told us that when the word 'festival' is
included, 'the' has to be placed before it, for example, the Mid-
Autumn Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival. These two are important
festivals in the Chinese community. Is it true?
