Hello,
No Corrs content in this email, just some list statistics.
James Sears went to the trouble to retrieve the Corrs list subscribers
list and do counts for how many subscribers we have from each country.
I thought the results he came up would be interesting for people to see.
These statistics were gathered on the 20th of Feb, and after that
there's already been probably a dozen or so (un)subscribers. Of course,
this can't be even nearly accurate, because of all the free web email
accounts which are used by people from all over the world, and so on.
He writes (this has been edited by me):
Following recent list discussion I fetched and processed the subscribers
lists. The resulting list of subscribers per e-mail address top level
domain are below.
It is difficult to tell which country subscribers with non-geographical
domains are from. A recent study <http://socrates.berkeley.edu/~zook/domain_names/>
shows that the US accounts for about two thirds of com, org, and net
registrations, and the UK and Germany 5%. However most of the com
addresses on the list are available to anyone (aol, hotmail, yahoo, etc)
making it even more complicated. Encouraging people to subscribe with
accurate ccTLD addresses is the only way to get a better picture without
a survey.
694 subscribers in 40 countries (by e-mail address domain):
ae 1 (United Arab Emirates) jp 3 (Japan)
au 35 (Australia) lv 1 (Latvia)

Many thanks to James for his effort. People from 40 different
countries, that's quite something!

Mikko
