I have just submitted a new version of the COSE HPKE draft. Version 16
reflects the discussions we had at the last IETF meeting. Below is a
high-level summary of the main changes:
- API clarification: Only the single-shot APIs from HPKE are supported.
- Recipient structure updates:
* The context value is now "HPKE Recipient".
* The field formerly called recipient_aad has been renamed to
recipient_extra_info, with a clearer definition of its role as input to
the HPKE info parameter. This was one of the key discussion points at
the last IETF meeting.
* AAD handling: It is now explicitly stated that aad defaults to the
empty string if no external value is provided.
- Examples: We have updated our implementations to reflect the changes
to the use of the recipient structure.
On behalf of the authors, I would like to thank the working group for
the valuable feedback.
To the best of my knowledge, this version addresses all open issues.
