We have been trying to resolve this issue for the past few hours and are in
live production, but can't seem to figure out what is causing the issue. We
are concerned right now in getting our production sites that don't use cosign
back online instead of getting cosign fixed at the moment.

Running Windows Server 2003, SP2, IIS 6.0.

We had Cosign 2.0.3 build 30 running fine for a year. Our SSL certificate
expired on a non-production site, so we decided to do a cosign upgrade and then
wait today or tomorrow until we get the new certificate. We upgraded to 2.1.0
RC2. Ever since then, ALL of our websites on the server are giving the error
"HTTP 500 Internal Server Error". If under Internet Options->advanced you
uncheck "Show friendly HTTP error messages, all the sites then give you the
message: "The server is currently disabled. ".

I saw this: http://webapps.itcs.umich.edu/cosign/index.php/Troubleshooting
<http://webapps.itcs.umich.edu/cosign/index.php/Troubleshooting> , so I
completely removed the cosign filter from the site using it by removing it from
ISAPI Filters, IIS restart, server restart, etc and still every single website
on this server show the same error including our production sites.

The event application log shows after a server restart cosign error: "An error
occurred while IISCosing was loading. It is now running in a minimal state
that will prevent your web site from serving content" even though I removed the
cosign filter."

When we did the cosign upgrade and then wait for the certificate, we wouldn't
have thought it would bring down every single website on this server. We have
3 other websites non SSL with no cosign that are not working after the install.
 The site that uses cosign is SSL. A year ago when we installed cosign, the
other websites were not affected and this time for some reason it is.

Here is the cosign log after a server restart even with the cosign filter
removed:

8-4-2008 14:4:16

Starting Cosign Filter version 2.1.0 RC2

[8-4-2008 14:4:16] SSL_CTX_check_private_key() failed.

[8-4-2008 14:4:16] GetFilterVersion::SetCosignCerts() failed

An earlier log:

8-4-2008 14:4:16

Starting Cosign Filter version 2.1.0 RC2

[8-4-2008 14:4:16] SSL_CTX_check_private_key() failed.

[8-4-2008 14:4:16] GetFilterVersion::SetCosignCerts() failed

Again, it seems like cosign is still running even with though the filter is
removed and after a server/iis restart. Any help asap would be greatly
appreciated so that we can get our production sites back online.

Thanks,

Jonas
