Hi,

I’ve been trying to setup a Test Install following the HOWTO on
http://webapps.itcs.umich.edu/cosign/index.php/Cosign_Wiki:Test_install_HOWTO
and I’m getting an error when I try to restart the web server after doing the
Apache2 configuration as demonstraded on the HOWTO (link) and i get the
following error:

(98) Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443
no listening sockets available, shutting down

However when I check the active connections with netstat there isn’t a single
process listening to port 443.
I’m assuming someone else must have encountered this before since I followed
the HOWTO.

I created the /etc/apache2/sites-available/cosign-config.inc and altered the
/etc/apache2/sites-available/default as indicated in the HOWTO.
I then enabled the SSL mode and created a self-signed certificate also as
indicate in the HOWTO.

It’s a clean Ubuntu 12.04 install and theres only 1 apache2 package installed.
Any help is greatly aprecciated!
