There is an eternally existent, cosmic  paradox in regards to IN and Out.

To focus i.e. to  focus "in" on a something,   whether it is inward toward ourself,

or inward toward something, that is outward from ourself, either way is an "in",

but in the latter is also "out".

I remmember when i first noticed this paradox in geometry and specifically  Isotropic Vector Matrix( IVM )

There are 12 radials of Vector Equilibrium / cubo-octahedron,  as radiating outward from a center of VE,

and there are 24 chords, circumferentially surrounding / around and embracing the outward radiating radials.

The geometric paradox, within the IVM, is that the radials of one VE become the chords of and adjacent VE,

and vice versa.

The "in" of one system becomes the "out" of another system and vice versa.

This first one  also shows the "coupler" --in color--  between the centers of Rh-Dod.

This one shows cube in color.

This one also has the coupler between Rh-Dodedral centers.

The coupler has 24 tetrahedra and is somewhat similar to the Duo-tet. Cube that respect.

If were to anthropozise the "coupler" it would be the corpous callesum between to Rd-Dod. hemispheres.

This latter can also be visualized in the link above.

Tony,

During death the brain gradually shuts down and the consciousness turns inward as if in dream and gradually travels towards its center. The proper understanding of the Bardo realm is this passage which occurs during the death of the brain. But when death is final there is nothing, and no next life either. In spite of what Tibetan Buddhism teaches, Bardo describes during the last stages of death, not after.

So if you want to pass through these last stages optimally you can study the Book of the Dead for some guidance, but you don't have to worry about your condition after death. There simply won't be any condition.

Worrying about not being here after you are dead is as stupid as worrying about not having been here before you were born. Same same.

Can anyone comment on the Theravada stance on Death. If the teachings
regarding the Bardo in tibetan traditions is legitimate surely we
should all be practicing some sort of Phowa?

Thoughts...?

Thanks...
