This looks like a worthwhile series of events. It is a bit disappointing
that they completely ignored the entire west coast of the U.S. Farthest
west they get is to Salt Lake City. It seems a bit strange they didn't
schedule in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, LA, or San Diego. If this
happens once a year, perhaps next year they can make an effort to make it
all the way to the west coast.

Hello Ron,
There are occasional UHF lectures tours to Canada, but not this year. These
are wonderful events. I have attended three UHF week-long annual conferences
in Belfast and Dublin and it was by attending these events that it became
quite clear that North Americans appeared at a disadvantage as a result of
poor immigration and civil registration records. On the other hand,
Australian delegates had the decided advantage of knowledge of the exact
location of their forebear?s native place thanks to our complete records:

Thank you so much for all your work transcribing and bringing the 100th/99th
regiment to everyone's attention by transcribing these events. I have
learned so much about my history from the Australian sites documenting the
blight of those on the Buffalo. An excellent book on the Papeneau Rebellion
and one of the few in English is The Patriot and the People the rebellion of
1837 by Allan Greer. The Papineau Rebellion had a lot of root causes but one
which effects us is the influx of Scot/Irish into Quebec in and around the
1800's.
I continue to search the microfilm for more information on the 100th/99th
reg in the Archives of Canada but it is slow going. I do find more
information and will share it and the Tyrone connection as I can organize
it.
Again thank you to Jim and to our Australian connections who have been so
kind to share their knowledge and research.

Jim- the microfilm searches I am doing is my own research but I am happy to
share as time permits. I would not dream of transcribing with out your help
as I do not know what is and is not copy written or how it would be
properly transcribed. I am looking for the most information I can glean. The
people of the 100th/99th are the fore fathers of the people who I grew up
with including my Great, Great Grandfather Sergent William Vaughan. I am
please that others are also interested and possibly getting useful
information on their families.
