I've flown C-152s, C-172s, Warrior IIs, Archers, a Cherokee Six once, and a Stearman once, and my Alon a bunch. Depends a lot on which Piper you're talking about, to be fair. I thought the Warrior II was underpowered, I thought the Six was a pig, but I liked the Archer just fine. That 180hp makes all the difference. I'm flying a Tiger for three hours on Monday. We'll see how I like that. I'd still rather be in my 'Coupe, but the 'Coupe is in cold, cold Connecticut, and the Tiger is in Florida.
