I suggest that you only purchase a strobe STC'd for your aircraft. My Alon came with owner-installed strobes with no paperwork. In straightening out my logs for the first annual, the FAA insisted on doing a field inspection on the plane to determine its airworthiness. I passed just fine, but all would have been avoided at no extra cost if approved strobes had been installed.
