Well, I wound up having to do my BFR in a Cessna 172 yesterday, which was
*ahem* interesting...

What happened was that my FBO kept cancelling because BFRs don't pay as
well
as charter, so I finally said to hell with 'em, and went to another
airport.
I hate to do it to my home field, but they did it to me first.

Anyway, by then it my BFR was past due, so I couldn't fly the 'Coupe to
the
other airport. So I used a rental 172 instead. I figured it wouldn't
hurt
me any to take a lesson in something that really requires me to use the
rudders and that breaks good and hard when you stall it.

Now I'm not a Cessna-basher by nature -- I think they're good, sturdy
planes
-- but boy oh boy if you want to be reminded about why you love your
'Coupe
so, go fly a 172. The controls were so heavy, I felt like I was driving a
truck. Practically had to stand on the right pedal on takeoff. I did
fine,
and I'm all legal again, but I don't think I'll be flying one of them
puppies again anytime soon!

So this morning I got to the airport by 0630, and flew around for an hour
with the top down. Aaaaahhh...I feel better now...
