Most auto stores carry a good quality gasket material. The one I
have used on a number of pumps is 1/8" cork that is impregnated with
neophrene. It's fairly cheap to buy and is fuel and oil proof, and holds
together much better than just cork. This can be cut out with a gasket
circle cutter or carefully with a razor knife. This is as good as any
$10. gasket that is "approved". Just make a nice job of it and tell your
mechanic you've already got your pump
gasket.
