----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Have to add my 2 cents this time. Flew to Sun'n'Fun this April, from Houston. Landing at Lafayette, Louisiana, winds were off the runway at 19 gusting to 26. Brought her right down the centerline with rudder pedals. Flared my 415E, then the world view began shifting rapidly to the side -- what a gust. Rather than shear a gear, powered up for a go-around. Decided the best course would be to pin the pedals at neutral and crab it in and on. Sure enough, flew her right on, no problems at all. That's what Fred had in mind ..... sans pedals.
