There ARE very, very effective scientific/medical treatments to help keep (or regain) a 3rd class medical. I have been offering them for years. Just this past spring, I returned an airline pilot to the line, with his 1st class medical returned by the FAA, despite his proven coronary artery disease (which grounded him last year). For 2 years, I served as chief medical consultant to Texas International Airlines (the purchaser of Continental back in the ancient early 80s). I spent 10 years as a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner. For over 20 years, I have practiced "nutritional" and "alternative/complementary" medicine. I have had the pleasure of returning "old" folks to work, to sports, to play, and to flying. And the pleasure of returning younger folks with serious illnesses (heart disease, diabetes, and so on) to current medical status. I gave up my status as an AME almost 10 years ago, so I could devote more of my time to research in these progressive methods of care.
