I've seen and ridden several of both of these. If I remember correctly the James had a Villers engine in it. As for the Little Harley, you must be looking for a 175 Hummer as the earlier ones were 125cc and had three rubber bands in the top of the forks for surpressing the bumps in the road (or dirt trails). I remember that if you ever got the front wheel in the air the wheel dropped down from gravity and the rubber bands fell off,. then you had to stop and lift up on the front end to get the rubber bands back where they belonged. The '49 was like that but I don't remember if they changed it for 1950 or 51. I always liked the BSA Bantam D-1C and the Czek better as they were both faster than the Harley. Sorry I can't help you, but keep looking there are a few out there in barns etc. The James may be harder to locate since they were imported from England as opposed to being made here in the states. Go to every swap meet you hear about and don't get in a hurry and you may be able to find one or both of them.
