Interesting.  If you look at the pictures of John Travolta's coupe you 
can see it is a very early serial number as it has the steel tube main 
gear.  A check of that registration shows it is SN 285 now belonging to 
James Mclean of Wisconsin.  The Web page claims the nice white coupe 
shown is the same airplane but if it is then is is not a 1947 as claimed 
and the rebuild/restoration included replacing the bubble windshield 
with the old flat windshield, replacing the main gear and changing the 
front fork to a double fork.  Now this is not impossible but I wonder if 
the guy with the '47 coupe was snookered or if John Travolta owned more 
than one coupe?
