Marilyn still can't get back on the Couper's mailing list, so I am one of several helping support her efforts to promote the Arkansas Picnic. I don't know what other type clubs have mailing lists similar to the CoupersNet, but I seem to recall several people passing info from other lists. If anyone belongs to another list, or knows someone who does, please pass on the dates of the Arkansas Picnic. Although it is being promoted by Coupers, it is being organized by the Batesville, Ark EAA chapter. The dates are Sept 21-23 at Batesville, Ark (BVX). In addition to hanger talking, etc., we expect a seminar of some sort from John Wright, and Marilyn is trying to line up some skydiver(s), a glider, and a hot air balloon. Camping and motels are both available. I don't know what the food situation will be, but in the past they had local pilots cooking and serving from the bbq grill. I have suggested asking the hiway dept to bring in some portable scales to weigh planes (unofficially). Does anyone own one of Syd Cohen's Video-scopes that they would bring to look at the inside of airplanes? We probably couldn't sell enough tapes to purchase the tool, but I think lots of pilots would pay $20 to have a video tape of the inside of their wings. Any other suggestions that the group might have would be helpful to the organizers. Of course, the most important thing is that lots of coupes show up.
