Coupers; After procrastinating a couple of days, I finally got around
to
looking at the carburetor again. I really didn't want to take it off again

(I've had it off 3 times) so I thought I would mess with it first.
Joe Spencer had asked me if I had enriched the mixture, which I had. I had

opened the needle valve to about 3 turns where the engine seemed to run a
little rougher. However, today, I opened the valve to 5 turns before I
even
started the engine. After warming it up, I opened it to 8 full turns. (I
think I could even smell the extra gas coming out of the exhaust.) I made
several small adjustments. The engine developed the most power at 6 turns
(2250 rpm static) however, it was still balky to start when warm. I
finally
settled on 7 1/2 turns, and the engine started with no difficulty after
sitting for 40 minutes.
I still think there is something wrong, but being the lazy person I am, if
I
can get it to run OK this way, I will try it for a while.
I think Harry may have hit on the problem being the secondary idle port. I

checked the carburetor I put on the other day that worked fine, and it has

both ports. I have another partial carburetor off a C-75, and it does not
have the secondary idle port drilled. I will not know for sure until I get

around to taking it off again, but that is now suspect.
Thanks to all for your ideas on what to try.
