Some performance comparisons. Skylane vs. Stationair per
Cessna's web site. All speeds are in knots. Distances are in
feet. Weights are in pounds. Both are IFR certified.

                        182T 206H

Cruise @ 80% 145 142
Stall (Flaps&P/O) 49 54
Ground Roll 795 910
to clear 50' Obs. 1514 1860
Rate of Climb (F/M) 924 988
Service Ceiling 18,100 20,700
Wing Loading 17.8 20.7
Empty Wgt 1897 2179
Maxs Take-off Wgt 3100 3600
Useful load 1213 1435
Max Ramp Wgt 3110 3614
Price (in Thousands) 250± 300+

I don't know. Does an extra 222Lbs of useful load justify
an additional 50 grand per? Other than a slight advantage
in RoC and service ceiling I'd say the Skylane is the better
performer.

Of course with the heavier wing loading the crew is less likely
to get bruised on a windy day. That's good. Right?

I think you pegged it Greg.
