Okay. I've read all the messages of complaints and such about the grounding. I feel helpless in this - a lone voice crying in the woods. (The FAA does not have to get rid of all the private planes, just hold out long enough to shut all the small plane related business down and the battle is theirs). So what can we do? The AOPA says stay out of it. They will protect us all. Should we just wait? The small airports, FBO's and private business that use VFR aviation were damaged just like the airlines. Are they going to get part of the money that is being allowed for the Airlines? Can they/we take legal action, as I'm sure everyone else will, against the lax security of the nation? We do need a scape goat. I'm a willing solider, in our battle to restore our rights, just looking for a leader. My recommendation is: Phase One : If by Noon Eastern on Thursday airspace is not release we start. At 12:01 p.m. eastern we call every congressman, senator and news talk show that we can find. Talk of the points that are hurting everyday people - lost income for crop dusters, FBO's closing, lost of medical transport if airports close, adverse effects to business which use planes to expedite their day to day operations, no more angle flights, no more young eagles, etc. CROWD THE PHONE LINES. Everyone calling at once. Phase Two: Repeat Phase one at 12:01 p.m. On Friday. This time add the Whitehouse, the FAA and AOPA to the call up list. CROWD THE PHONE LINES. Everyone calling at once. Phase Three: D-Day - 12:00 Eastern, Saturday - High Noon. Every person with the guts to do it starts up their plane, sets the Transponder to 5500 and takes a thirty minute flight. Fill the sky will VFR airplanes. Everyone flying at once. (What can be done - shoot down 5,000+ private planes? At lease we would make the news.) Phase Four: D+1 - 6:00 p.m. Eastern, Sunday - Every person again starts flying. This time with the Transponder set to 7700 and the ELT turned on. Now let the FAA deal with this mass flying every weekend until the system is restored to new. If we don't do something we will be the same as the Japanese during WWII.
