THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF OPERATIONS ARE NOT AUTHORIZED:
CIVIL AIRCRAFT VFR FLIGHT TRAINING OPERATIONS
- Guess these guys really have a hard-on over the fact that
the terrorists learned to fly at (!) flight schools. It appears
they're
determined to put them out of business for good. Note they
say 'civil aircraft.' I guess they just remembered... their own
primary cadets are training at private schools.
No matter. There is probably nothing to stop someone who
HAPPENS to be a student pilot taking a ride with a friend who
HAPPENS to be a CFI, and if that person HAPPENS to take
the controls, well, that's between them, and the log-book dates
may be a touch off...
BANNER TOWING OPERATIONS
Now there's a real threat to National Security. 'EAT AT JOE'S' Joe
makes lousy chili, I guess. Looks like just another way to deprive
a low-ranking commercial pilot of his living.
SIGHT SEEING FLIGHT OPERATIONS CONDUCTED FOR COMPENSATION OR HIRE (UNDER
PART 91, PURSUANT TO THE EXCEPTION IN 119.1(e)(2))
Okay, well, that way the 172 taking a look at the Grand Canyon
can't
be hijacked to crash on the Vegas strip...
TRAFFIC WATCH FLIGHT OPERATIONS

AIRSHIP/BLIMP OPERATIONS
Yeah, them blimps are DANGEROUS. A 40MPH pillow can really
wreak havoc. Oh, the humanity!
NEWS REPORTING OPERATIONS
Well, I'm glad they did this one. Because maybe the absurdity of
the whole situation will get the media attention it deserves. When
Newschopper 4 can't fly... They'll have a problem with this. You
see,
we have this thing called Freedom of the Press, and what makes
something 'News Reporting' is when you see a story and report it
and you can't make a law against someone reporting a story. I bet
the injunction is being sought as this is being written...
It's like they deliberately excluded any Part 91 revenue-generating
activity.
It's also like they are deliberately attempting to do as much damage as
possible
to people who make their living flying VFR Part 91. One begins to think
that it
*is* vindictive, to show their anger at those who trained the terrorists.
Doesn't
it seem like 'revenue producing Part 91' is the common prohibited activity
thread, here?
