Please forward to all Ercoupe drivers on your list. Thanks It is now nearly 3:00 PM in Washington seat of the powerful FAA. There has been no further action on allowing VFR flights within the "enhanced B space," surface to infinity. No action at this time indicates lack of any realistic decisionmaking ability regarding this in the near future. Unrestricted VFR flight in class B space will not return in a timely manner as the FAA continues to put the squeeze on those least able to respond. Accordingly THE 15TH NORTH LAS VEGAS FLY IN scheduled for Sept 28-30, 2001 is hereby CANCELLED. The edge of the "enhanced B space" nearly touches the northern end of the runway at Jean, NV, so that becomes an impractical option--all take offs and landings heading South only. Furthermore no aerial activities can be conducted as the only other public airport in the area is at Overton, NV requiring circumventing the B space. No penalties will be incurred for canceling rooms at the Fiesta (1-800-654-8888 or 702-631-7000). We will dine in the Mexican restaurant Saturday night and have a send off breakfast on Sunday. This will all be done without airplanes.
