----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- This past weekend we visited Richmond, Va. and the Virginia Aviation Museum at Byrd Field.
www.smv.org I always enjoy the visit, and looking at all the old aircraft, including the last airplane Fred Weick flew.....of course, an Ercoupe - N-99143, s/n 1766, donated byCharlie Drummond of Poquoson, Va. 3I was also pleased to be able to purchase a historical book on the life of Capt. H.T. Dick Merrill, "Wings of Man, The legend of Captain Dick Merrill", by Jack L. King. ISBN 0-911721-91-6 They have a special going on as long as there are books remaining at $3.50 each ( list $18.95). I am sorry to say I didn't find if they can respond to letters, emails, etc, and mail out books...BUT this is a great piece of history about aviation development in the USA. I highly recommend the book, and encourage you to get a copy for your library.
