hi Pete,
I once tried to do what you are talking about and I got in trouble very
fast. All the attach points in the engine mount depend on each other. When
you pull the bolt out of one the engine will drop and you will have a very
difficult time trying to remove the rubber mount and reinsert the bolt.
When I did this I eventually had to find and borrow a portable engine
hoist. I recommend this to avoid doing any damage to the mount, engine or
Ercoupe.
