I'm with you on this one Greg. Sometimes nice just doesn't cut it. One of the local Chicago TV news shows did a piece on the closure of GA airports around the nuke plants. They interview a couple of pilots who both did a very good job of explaining the problem. And thebad effects it's having on GA businesses.. My own personal feeling is this station did the report because one of their anchors is a very active skydiver and, obviously, has connections to GA. Anyway, it was gratifying to see the media present an honest report. But there needs to be more of it. Mike Dean -----Original Message----- Well, having been ignored so far by my representatives in Congress, whom I've been nice to so far, I have decided to take a different approach. No more making the case that the AOPA is already making eloquently. As a voter, I have a different job to do. I'm going to let them know that if they don't actively support GA now, I'm going to do everything I can to vote their butts out. I will cross party lines if necessary to vote against them, I will send money to their opposition, and I will ask my fellow pilots and non-pilots to do the same. And I will publicize their lack of support for GA on a web site. And I may just talk to my fellow NJ pilots about putting together a PAC (read 'Special Interest Group') to endorse and support GA-friendly candidates. Phil Boyer has to be nice and tactful. Tom Poberezny has to be nice. The GA community should know that, back in the districts, 'nice' gets you nowhere. Votes and dollars get you somewhere.
