I got my first coupe ride on Saturday. Don Sword, out of Galt Airport (10C), north of Woodstock IL, took me up for about a half hour. Don has a 1946 415 C/D with 85 HP. All I can say is...I LOVE THIS AIRPLANE!!!!! I can't remember when I had that much fun flying. And man, that power-on-stall is scary. Nose pointed neary straight up. (At least it felt that way.) Airspeed about 50. And climbing at 500 feet per minute. Try that in a C150! (Or anything else, for that matter.) For the next few weekends I'll be at Wal-Mart with a coffee can.
